At LVUC's Yoga Chapel, Yoga Chaplain Artemis Calogeros combines the art of storytelling with the wisdom of yoga, illuminating the Christian story for you through the beauty of gentle movement.
The space is here for your peaceful reflection upon a sacred story each week as your body flows through the message with breath to deepen your understanding.
You do not need to be an experienced Yogi to participate in this program as the classes are gentle. There will be some advanced variations of the poses offered to those who would like and all poses can be modified to suit everyone.
Each Yoga Chapel session is a drop-in fee of $15. To learn more about Yoga Chapel, please click here.

About Artemis:
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Artemis Calogeros immigrated to Vancouver, BC with her family in 1975 to escape the civil war. Today, Artemis lives and teaches yoga near the mountains in beautiful North Vancouver, BC with her husband and daughter. Artemis first discovered yoga as a child when she found “Kareen’s Yoga” on CTV (Kareen Zebroff was a pioneer in televised yoga), and then rediscovered the practice in high school. After an on-again-off-again relationship with yoga that spanned decades, she committed to obtaining her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Karma Teachers, and then completed additional training in Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga, both of which are slow, calming, meditative practices that often include contemplative teachings.
Artemis owns and operates The Yoga Root, a small, award-winning community yoga studio in North Vancouver, BC. In contrast to the fast pace of fitness yoga, The Yoga Root offers slower, mindful yoga that provides benefits for body, mind, and spirit. She is a member of the Lynn Valley United Church and feels deep gratitude for having been invited to teach “Yoga on the Labyrinth” and Yoga Chapel sessions as part of their Centre for Spiritual Practices. As a Yoga Chaplain, Artemis is excited to share the gift of contemplative yoga guided by Yoga Chapel’s three pillars: Spirit, Meditation, and Movement.
