My name is Reverend Eric Hamlyn and I’m originally from Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I was raised in the United Church and moved to Vancouver in 1996 to study at the Vancouver School of Theology. I quickly fell in love with BC, and after only a few months, I knew this would be my home for a very long time.
I am the Minister for Faith and Families here at Lynn Valley United Church and I work primarily with the Children, Youth & Families Ministry and the Ministry of Spiritual Practices.
I have been with my partner Thomas for over 25 years. An awesome day off for us includes going out for brunch followed by a long walk on the seawall. I also love sushi, coffee, and reading lots of books. I have always been an optimist at heart and view life as a total gift from God.
I love creating brave spaces for people of all ages in which God’s beloveds feel welcome, safe, valued, nurtured, and challenged by the spirit and love of God.
