At the July  Board meeting, the transition team brought a recommendation forward to consider extending the Transitional Ministry for an additional year.

“Why” you ask? LVUC is looking to develop a ministry search profile that will help us find a minister that is the best fit for LVUC’s future, and we're not yet at a place to say who they are looking for right now. The process typically takes 3-6 months to get input into and create a meaningful job description and as ministers typically consider a change in call in the first few months of the year, the extra year will give more opportunity to hear the voice of the congregation.
In fact, there was discussion from the outset that 2 years might not be enough time for us to achieve the goals and vision work we began in July of 2023.

The board is working towards  a strategic plan focused on a thriving and growing church. This is part of the transition process and needs participation and input from as many of you as possible. The strategic plan will inform who we hire. The board does not have enough direction to set that plan at this time and the hope is this additional 12 months will support the best outcome for a healthy and successful future.

Please come on September 8th to vote on this matter, and if you have questions speak with any of the board or Rev. Karen.
