Good. Better. Best. That is the scale upon which our culture loves to weigh ourselves. How Much is enough is the question we ask this week? How do we receive joy, how do we live in joy when we constantly live as if we are in lack.

Even though God had already declared us good in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1:31), we aren’t satisfied. We have to have more, get more, do more, be more. Until one day, perhaps due to illness or grief or mental anguish or exhaustion or maybe something entirely out of our control, we stop. Do we stop looking around us and seeing the needs of others because we are so focussed on our own lack?

This week we will rediscover what we have as we look at Isaiah 12:2-6 and Luke 3:7-18
